紫色玛瑙。多呈单一的紫色，优质者颜色如同紫晶，而且光亮。次者色淡，或者不够光亮，俗称“闷”。紫玛瑙（Purple Agate）玉髓颜色因含有不铜矿物质而有所不同。古代学者常把玛瑙，玉髓称为“第三眼”，据说可使人与通过的波动频率产生共鸣，增 强原子的力量，使电子发生作用，因此对喜爱占星，研究灵术的人来说，是增强自己透视灵界能力的催化剂，这就说明了为何所谓的天珠都喜欢以玛瑙或玉髓来作为原始的材料。
